Betty Heidler

  • Born on October 14th 1983 in Berlin

  • Grew up in Berlin-Marzahn until I was 17 years old

  • Then moved to Frankfurt/Main sports boarding school in October 2001

  • Passed my A-level at Carl-von-Weinberg high school in 2003

  • From 2003 to 2007 education at the German Federal Police and graduation as a federal police officer

  • Since October 2007 I am pursuing a Bachelor of Law at Fernuniversität Hagen

  • In addition to that, I am studying at law school in Frankfurt’s Johann Wolfgang von Goethe university since October 2008

  • In my spare time I like to read, ride hoses, sleep, go shopping and spend a maximum amount of time with my family and friends

  • I am an athlete for around 11 years now: I started athletics at the age of 14 and since 1998 I am focussing on hammer throw only

  • My first trainer was Ronald Brauer and it was with Bernd Mädler that I learned the basics of hammerthrow. In 2001 I changed both location and trainer – since then it is federal trainer Michael Deyhle who trains and supports me until now.
